How to use your linked debit or credit card with Perfect Gift
Once your debit or credit card is linked to Perfect Gift, using it is simple. Just shop like you normally would, and Perfect Gift takes care of the rest.
Step-by-step: how it works

Link your debit or credit card
- Before you start, make sure your debit or credit card is linked to your Perfect Gift. If you haven’t done this yet, follow the linking instructions HERE.
- Once your card is linked successfully, you’re ready to shop.

Make a purchase at the selected merchant
- Use your linked debit or credit card at the selected merchant.
- You don’t need to open Perfect Gift or take any extra steps at checkout. Just pay with your linked card as usual.
- NOTE: You must have the funds available on your card in order for the purchase to be completed successfully.

Get credited/reimbursed
- After your purchase goes through, Perfect Gift immediately reimburses you for the amount of the purchase, up to the value of the gift.
- While our reimbursements are typically instant, some banks may take up to 3 days to process the credit. You should see it as pending.
- Check your statement for the appropriate credit amount as the description may not say PerfectGift. It may say “Electronic Payment” or just “Payment Thank You.”
- For example, if you received a $100 PerfectGift and spend $110 at the merchant, you will be credited $100.
- If you don’t spend the full amount in one purchase, no problem. You’ll continue receiving reimbursements with future purchases until the full Perfect Gift value is used.
- After your purchase goes through, Perfect Gift immediately reimburses you for the amount of the purchase, up to the value of the gift.
If your credit/reimbursement hasn’t appeared
If you don’t see your reimbursement after three days (due to bank processing), follow these steps:
- Log into your PerfectGift account.
- Click on the Where's my Credit tab.
- Select the merchant where you did not receive your credit.
- Enter the date and amount of your purchase and the transaction type (in-store or online).
- Click Submit.
- You will receive a confirmation.
