We're sorry if your physical gift card arrived in unusable condition.
Thankfully, this doesn’t happen often, but physical gift cards can occasionally be damaged during shipping and get compromised to the point where they can't be used. Here's what to do.
Step 1: Try to activate it first
Try to activate the card using your 16-digit card number and 3-digit CVV at https://www.perfectgift.com/activate.
- If the card number and CVV are still legible on the card, it may still activate and work normally even if the card looks damaged.
- If the numbers are unreadable or the card fails to activate, move to Step 2.
Step 2: Contact support to request a replacement
PerfectGift’s support team can approve the issuance of a replacement card.
Contact us via:
- Chat: Use the chat icon at the bottom right of any page on perfectgift.com or help.perfectgift.com
- Email: support@perfectgift.com
- Phone: (877) 448-4438, available 24/7
What to have ready
To help our team investigate and process your request as quickly as possible, gather as much of the following as you can.
Don't worry if you don't have all of this. Provide what you have, and our customer support team will work with you.
- Your order number (from your confirmation email)
- The email address used at checkout
- The last 4 digits of the card number (if legible)
- The card carrier — this is the paper or packaging the card was attached to when it arrived. There is a Unique Card ID printed on the back of the carrier in the bottom right corner, which helps us locate your card in our system.
- A description of the damage (e.g., bent card, cracked plastic, illegible numbers)
- Your shipping address
What happens next
Once our team reviews your case and approves the replacement:
- Your original card will be immediately voided for security purposes.
- A $5 fee will be deducted from your card's remaining balance to cover the replacement process.
- A new card will be sent to you via USPS first class mail. Note that USPS does not include tracking.
- No additional funds can be added to the replacement card. The replacement card will carry the balance remaining on your damaged card, minus the $5 fee.
