What is the “Generate AI Video” option?
“Generate AI Video” lets you create a short, custom video greeting for your gift card by typing a description — no recording or uploading required. The AI generates a personalized video based on your prompt, which is attached to your gift card packaging.
| Note: This option is only available when purchasing a physical gift card with Best packaging. |
How do I create an AI video greeting?
- During checkout, when prompted to personalize your Best packaging, select “Generate AI Video.”
- Type a description of the video you’d like (e.g., “a cheerful birthday celebration with confetti and balloons”).
- (Optional) Use the Style or Occasion selectors (tap the ✦ sparkle icon) to refine your video. Styles include Photorealistic, Anime, Cartoon, and Claymation; occasions include Birthday, Wedding, and Graduation.
- Tap “Generate Video” and wait while the AI creates your video.
- Preview the result. Tap “Accept” to use it, or “Retry” to generate a new version (up to 3 attempts total).
How long does video generation take?
Generation is synchronous — you’ll see a loading screen while the video is being created. Stay on the page until it completes. If you navigate away or close the browser during generation, the process will be abandoned and you’ll need to start over.
How many times can I generate a video?
You can generate up to 3 videos per session. After 3 attempts, the Retry button is disabled. This limit applies equally to guests and logged-in users.
If you’ve used all 3 attempts and aren’t satisfied, you can still Accept one of your previously generated videos (viewable in the carousel), or go back and choose Record Video or Upload Video instead — no AI fee will be charged if you switch.
| Note: Rejected prompts (blocked before generation begins) do not count against your 3-attempt limit. |
My prompt was rejected. What should I do?
All prompts are screened through automated content moderation before generation begins. Prompts may be blocked if they contain:
- Offensive, violent, or sexually explicit content
- Content involving self-harm or harassment
- Prompts that closely resemble a real person’s face or likeness
To fix this: Revise your description to be more generic — focus on scenes, styles, and occasions rather than specific people or sensitive topics. A blocked prompt does not use up one of your 3 attempts.
Is there a fee for using AI video generation?
Yes — a $1.50 AI Video Generation Fee is added to your order when you accept an AI-generated video. The fee is shown upfront next to the “Generate AI Video” option before you enter the flow.
| Video Option | AI Fee |
| Generate AI Video (accepted) | $1.50 |
| Record Video | No AI fee |
| Upload Video | No AI fee |
The fee appears as a Personalization line item on your checkout summary, order confirmation, and invoice email.
My video got stuck generating. What do I do?
The page must stay open while your video generates — navigating away or closing the browser will abandon the process. If this happened, return to the personalization flow and try again.
If generation consistently fails across multiple attempts, please contact our support team with your order details.
Why can’t I find a video I previously generated?
All videos generated during a session are accessible via the carousel on the preview screen. However, if you navigated away from the AI video flow entirely (e.g., visited a different page), the session state is lost and those videos can no longer be retrieved.
| Note: AI-generated videos are automatically deleted from our servers after 10 days, even if they were used in a completed order. |
What’s not supported?
- AI video generation for Good or Better packaging tiers, or digital gift cards
- Uploading a reference image or video to guide AI generation
- Viewing previously generated AI videos after they have been deleted (10-day retention)
- Increasing the 3-attempt limit — this cannot be overridden
